The Basin
Advisory Committees provide insight and advice on water issues to
the Kansas Water Authority and serve as a forum for community
involvement. Each of the state’s 12 principal river basins in Kansas
has a Basin Advisory Committee. The committees were established on
June 28, 1985.
All Basin
Advisory Committees have seven core membership categories. They are:
agriculture, fish and wildlife, industry/commerce, recreation,
conservation/environment, municipal public water suppliers and
at-large public. Each basin also selects 2-4 committee categories
that reflect the needs and interests of that basin.

basin specific categories vary by basin. The categories and
